As the child of a Minister of Music and the granddaughter of an accomplished musician and singer, Destinee’ gained great exposure to various types of Gospel music at an early age. She sang her first solo at the age of 5 and began attending the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) at the age of 9. At the age of 11, she lead “Perfect Praise (How Excellent)” during Sunday morning worship with the youth choir at her church and felt the Holy Spirit move in a way she had never experienced before.
Just as she began to get comfortable with leading the church choir, she received a diagnosis of nodules on her vocal cords. This was devastating to her as a 12 year old child. She went through many years of vocal distress wondering if she misunderstood who God was developing her to be. She was warned by the doctors that if she continued to sing, she would lose her singing and speaking voice. In her heart, she knew that God makes no mistakes. Despite the report of the doctors, Destinee’ continued to sing through out high school & college in various theatrical productions and choirs.

As Destinee’ continues to sing God’s praises, she is looking forward to what God has in store for her as an Independent Gospel Artist. She also knows that the set back was just a plot of the enemy to stop her at an early age from spreading God’s word. Her first single “My Everything (U R)” is a testament to who God is in her life and she knows that set back is a set up for what’s to come.
